CMCoordinates: Charting the professional path for case managers
The future outlook for board-certified case managers is exceptional. New models of care emphasize the critical function of care coordination and the role of case managers in team-based care. What’s more, employers recognize the value of board certification and its validation of case management knowledge, skills and abilities.
To help us promote, advance and advocate for professional case managers, the Commission regularly fields a survey of board-certified case managers to learn more about who they are, where they work and how they advance through professional development. We introduce new “coordinates” to educate the industry about the profession of case management and the case management professional.
CMCoordinates illustrate the key findings from that survey, demonstrating what an accomplished, well-educated and truly committed community that board-certified case managers represent.
Download each CMCoordinates chart to use wherever you want to tell the CCM story—with supervisors and employers, in community settings, education sessions with other care professionals, and with those who might be interested in pursuing a case manager career. Case managers can share CMCoordinates to discuss their own career and personal “coordinates” to make the case for value—both the value of earning the initial CCM for professional development, and the value of continuing education and CCM renewal. Download the CMCoordinates below and check back regularly as we add new coordinates to this page.
